Every Young Person Deserves a Way Forward
Hersch Group provides personalised education, mentoring and progression support for children and young people aged 4–25. We work alongside young people, families, schools and professionals to overcome barriers, build confidence and create meaningful pathways towards learning, independence and the future.

Different Needs. Different Pathways. One Goal.
No two children or young people are the same. Some need help to reconnect with learning. Some need a trusted adult alongside them. Others need practical support to take their next step into education, training or employment.
At Hersch Group, we start with you, your unique strengths, the hurdles you’re facing, and what you need to succeed.
Reconnect
Mentoring & Engagement
Positive relationships come first. We provide trusted, consistent support to help children and young people build confidence, develop routines, overcome barriers and begin to reconnect with learning.

Personalised Learning & Vocational Education
Learning works best when it feels achievable, relevant and meaningful. We provide flexible, personalised learning shaped around each young person’s needs, strengths, interests and goals. We value vocational and practical learning alongside academic study, giving young people opportunities to develop skills in subjects that interest them. Through the AQA Unit Award Scheme, learners can begin at a level where they feel comfortable, experience success and gain recognition for their achievements, helping to rebuild confidence and provide a positive first step back into learning.
Move Forward
Progression & NEET Support
Moving forward can begin with the smallest of steps. For some children & young people, simply entering a new environment, rebuilding a routine or engaging with someone new can be a significant achievement. We provide patient, practical support to help young people build confidence, feel comfortable in their surroundings and develop a positive sense of what they can achieve. From those first steps, we work alongside each young person towards education, training, employment, greater independence and a future that feels achievable.

Supporting Every Step Forward
From reconnecting with learning to building skills, confidence and independence, Hersch Group provides personalised support for children and young people aged 4–25. Our mentoring, education, vocational learning and progression pathways are shaped around the individual and where they want to go next.

“Who We Are & Why We Care”
Experience you can trust. People you can talk to.
At Hersch Group, we know that the right relationship can change how a young person sees themselves, learning and their future. Everything we do starts with getting to know the individual, listening to them, understanding what matters to them and taking the time to build genuine trust.
Led by Jo and Richard Herschell-Smith, Hersch Group brings together more than 60 years of combined experience across education, SEND, youth and community work, alternative provision and family support. We understand that young people don’t always fit neatly into traditional approaches, and that behind disengagement, poor attendance or challenging behaviour there is often a young person who needs someone to listen, understand and find a different way forward.
Our approach is warm, relational and practical. There can be conversation and learning, but also laughter, creativity, sport, practical activities and opportunities to discover new interests. We celebrate the small steps because we know they are often the ones that lead to the biggest changes.
For parents, carers and professionals, we want to be people you can talk openly with and work alongside. For young people, we want Hersch to feel like somewhere they are welcomed, valued and genuinely believed in.

Step One: We Listen & Connect
We start by getting to know the young person — their story, strengths, interests, needs and what matters to them.
Step Two: We Find What Works
Together, we create flexible, engaging support that builds on interests, celebrates success and moves at the right pace.
Step Three: We Move Forward Together
From small first steps to bigger ambitions, we build confidence, skills and independence towards a future that feels achievable.
Different Pathways. Brighter Futures
There is no single route to success. Hersch Group provides flexible, personalised support that meets children and young people where they are and helps them move towards where they want to be. From early intervention and education to vocational learning and progression into adulthood, we create opportunities to build confidence, discover strengths and take meaningful steps forward.

Mentoring & Re-engagement
Positive relationships can be the starting point for change. Through consistent, trusted mentoring, we help young people rebuild confidence, overcome barriers and reconnect with learning, opportunities and themselves.

Personalised Education & Tutoring
Learning should feel achievable and meaningful. We provide personalised academic support alongside practical and interest-led learning, helping young people experience success, build skills and rediscover what they are capable of.

Progression & NEET Support
Sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to begin. We support young people aged 16–25 to explore their next steps and build the confidence to move towards college, training, apprenticeships, employment and greater independence.

Vocational Learning & Skills
Not every young person thrives behind a desk. Practical and vocational experiences give young people opportunities to discover new interests, develop real-world skills and gain recognised achievements, including opportunities through the AQA Unit Award Scheme.
