How We Can Help

Reconnect → Learn→ Move Forward →

Every young person’s journey is different. We work with children, teenagers and young adults aged 4–25, providing flexible support shaped around their needs, strengths, circumstances and aspirations.

Diverse adults collaborate and learn on laptops in a modern classroom.

Children & Early Support — Ages 4–11

Building confidence, positive relationships and engagement with learning through personalised mentoring, tutoring, play-based techniques and practical activities. We use age-appropriate, creative approaches to help children feel comfortable, express themselves, develop new skills and build positive experiences of learning.

Teenagers & Young People — Ages 11–18

Supporting young people who may be struggling with school, attendance, confidence or traditional approaches to learning. Through a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach, we take time to listen, build trust and develop positive relationships, helping young people feel safe, understood and ready to re-engage.

Learning begins with what interests them. Through AQA Unit Award Scheme opportunities, young people can work towards recognised achievements in subjects that motivate them, creating achievable early successes and rebuilding confidence in their ability to learn. From these positive starting points, we gradually support engagement with foundation English and Maths alongside personalised education, mentoring and vocational opportunities. By recognising every step of progress, we help young people discover what they can achieve and begin moving towards their future with confidence.

Young Adults & Progression — Ages 16–25

Supporting young adults to identify what they want their next step to look like and helping them build the confidence and skills to get there. Whether the goal is college, further training, an apprenticeship, employment or greater independence, we work alongside each individual to create a realistic pathway that reflects their interests, strengths and aspirations.

For those who are NEET or have become disengaged, progress may begin with small but important steps rebuilding routines, developing confidence, exploring opportunities or simply becoming comfortable in new environments. We provide practical support with life skills, job applications, CVs, college visits, interviews and preparing for employment or apprenticeships. As confidence grows, our support gradually reduces, helping each young adult transition successfully into their next opportunity with greater independence, resilience and belief in what they can achieve.

Our Approach

We believe the best learning begins with connection. At Hersch Group, every young person is seen as an individual not a label, diagnosis or set of difficulties. We take time to listen, build trust and discover what makes them curious, comfortable and motivated. Our child-centred, relational and trauma-informed approach combines learning with creativity, practical experiences, play, movement, conversation and fun, creating opportunities for young people to experience success without feeling overwhelmed. We start where they are, celebrate the small wins as well as the big ones, and gently build confidence, skills and independence at a pace that feels achievable. Most importantly, young people have a voice in their own journey because when they feel safe, valued and involved, learning can begin to feel possible again.

Connect & Understand

We take time to listen, build trust and understand the individual their circumstances, strengths, needs and barriers. We work with the young person, their family and relevant professionals to understand their goals and identify the most appropriate way forward.

Create The Right Pathway

Together, we develop flexible support around what the child or young person needs now and where they want to go next. We deliver personalised mentoring, tutoring, or NEET progression support, working collaboratively to build confidence and skills.

Build Towards the Future

We support progress at a realistic pace, building confidence, skills, independence and opportunities for the next step. We review progress alongside the young person and, where appropriate, their family, school, local authority or other professionals, adapting support as their needs and goals develop.

Their Journey. Their Words.

Hersch Group has grown from years of working alongside children, young people and their families building relationships, overcoming barriers and finding different ways forward. Some of the young people we supported through our previous education work have chosen to continue their journey with us as Hersch Group has developed. Rather than simply telling you what we believe makes a difference, we think it is more meaningful to hear from the young people and families who have experienced that support themselves.
